Nintendo Announces Multiple Final Fantasy Games On Nintendo Switch

It’s well known by now that Nintendo got a lot of people excited with its Nintendo Direct yesterday, what with Isabelle coming to Super Smash Bros Ultimate and a new Animal Crossing coming to the console next year. However, they also announced that multiple Final Fantasy games on Nintendo Switch are coming, too.
Final Fantasy has been a Playstation-exclusive genre for many years, almost since its inception, though those games were originally coming out on the oldest first-generation Nintendo consoles before Square Enix and Sony established themselves and moved it to Playstation consoles.
However, in the last few years, starting with the Lightning games, the series has begun to branch out to other platforms like the Xbox and PC. Final Fantasy 15, Final Fantasy 12: The Zodiac Age, and the Final Fantasy 13 games have since been added to the Xbox’s catalogue.
While Final Fantasy games had previously been available for Nintendo consoles, these were often side-games that were on its handheld consoles, and even the few mainline Final Fantasy games remained on its side-platforms, with very few ever getting to its main consoles.
The multiple Final Fantasy games on Nintendo Switch that will be coming out, however, are some of the series’s best ones, that have all come with good reviews. These games include World of Final Fantasy Maxima, Final Fantasy 12: The Zodiac Age, Final Fantasy 9, Final Fantasy 10, and Final Fantasy 10-2, and Final Fantasy 7.
It’s always been a policy of Nintendo to allow a large number of different third-party games across the Nintendo Switch, and if Nintendo gamers are going to be able to play Final Fantasy games on Nintendo Switch, those games might be one of the biggest sellers on the console, especially since Final Fantasy 9, 10 and 10-2, and 12 have all been remastered over the past few years. We might even get Final Fantasy 15 on the Switch at some point.
Either way, you can expect all of these Final Fantasy games on Nintendo Switch in 2019, and with World of Final Fantasy Maxima on October 6.
